Facial Lifting
Facial lifting describes a visible improvement in the position and firmness of facial tissue — in HIFU, this comes from targeting deeper structural layers, including the SMAS, rather than only the skin's surface. Where many cosmetic treatments work on the dermis alone, HIFU can also focus energy at the depth of the SMAS (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System), the fibromuscular layer that surgeons reposition during a traditional facelift. By heating this deeper layer in a controlled way, HIFU is often described as a non-surgical alternative aimed at a similar area of the face — particularly the cheeks, jawline, brow, and eyelid region — though the degree of lift achievable non-surgically is generally more subtle and gradual than a surgical procedure, and results depend on individual skin condition and ageing. No incisions or anaesthetic are involved, and any visible change typically develops over several weeks as the deeper tissue responds and new collagen forms.
