Microthermal Zones
Microthermal zones are the tiny, individual pockets of controlled heat that a HIFU device creates within the tissue at each focal point, spaced closely together across the treatment path. Rather than heating one large, continuous area (which would carry more risk to surrounding tissue), HIFU delivers its energy as a grid of small, precise points, each one triggering a localised collagen-renewal response while the tissue immediately around it remains unaffected. This "fractional" approach — treating in a controlled pattern rather than uniformly — is part of why HIFU is generally well tolerated with minimal visible disruption to the skin's surface: the body only needs to repair small, targeted zones at a time, so healing is faster and the overall effect appears gradually and naturally as those thousands of individual zones collectively stimulate new collagen across the treated area.
