Multi-Layered Targeting
Multi-layered targeting is a treatment approach where ultrasound energy is applied at more than one depth in a single session — for example, the dermis, subcutaneous tissue, and SMAS — rather than treating only one layer. Because sagging and laxity rarely originate from a single structural cause, addressing multiple layers in one session is designed to produce a more comprehensive result than targeting depth alone: superficial passes can improve fine lines and skin texture, while deeper passes work on the SMAS for a firmer, more lifted structural foundation. In practice, this means switching cartridges partway through a treatment (e.g. from a 2mm to a 4mm cartridge) to move from one focal depth to another. This layered approach is more commonly available on professional or clinic-grade systems like the ULTRAISER eHM15, which offers a wider range of focal depths in one device, though ULTRAISER P1 Pro users can also combine its two included cartridges across a session for a similar effect on the face.
