How to Tighten Eyelids at Home?
As we get older and our skin loses its elasticity, it’s fairly usual to see some skin droop, including the skin around our eye area on or just above our eyelids.
And whilst droopy eyelids can make one look tired and aged, and in some cases – where one eyelid droops more than another – cause asymmetrical eyes, there are a number of cosmetic procedures for eye or eyelid lifts you can use to reduce the sagginess and excess skin, giving your face a more youthful and ‘bright-eyed’ look.
Surgical procedures for eyelids tightening
Surgical procedures are available, including having a Blepharoplasty – a procedure in which a surgeon cuts off the excess skin on the upper and/or lower part of the eyelids to tighten the area. The procedure, whilst normally effective, is invasive and involves numerous injections, incisions and has a lengthy post-surgical recovery time as your body – and post-surgery there will be swelling as well as soreness, and the procedure may also have longer term effects like dry eyes.
Surgery may also not be a viable option if, for example, you’re on certain chronic medications such as blood thinners, or are elderly or under the age of 18.
Non-invasive procedures to tighten eyelids
It’s important therefore to consider non-invasive procedures to tighten the skin and give you an eyelid and eye lift that helps you regain that youthful look and feel. One non-invasive option is to use Botulinum Toxin, more commonly known as Botox, which is an injectable serum that blocks the signals in your brain that pull the muscles in your eyebrows down.
Botox helps smooth out the skin on the brow and forehead, giving you a ‘brow lift’ which can give your eyes a more arched look, and can last between 3 and 4 months.
Whilst Botox can be effective, over time it can also have a residual impact on other muscles in your face, causing them to relax to a point where they begin to sag in other areas, which may cause your brow or eyelids to become heavy again over time.
Eyelids tightening at home without surgery
A highly-effective way to tighten eyelid skin without surgery and any negative side-effects is to target the dermal layer using High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU). HIFU technology stimulates the production of collagen, which provides the skin with structural support and elasticity, resulting in firmer skin and a more youthful look.
HIFU is a totally non-invasive process – the high-frequency ultrasound beams emitted by ULTRAISER are focused on a specific site below the skin’s surface so there is no damage to the upper layers of the skin or adjacent issue.
Our range of HIFU devices are portable and optimally designed for treatments around eyes, wrinkles and curved areas of the face. With an ergonomic design, you’re able to get the full benefit of HIFU treatments in the comfort of your own home.
